At Lexington Tattoo Removal, we are more than just laser tattoo removal - we offer all sorts of laser treatment options. One of our most popular services is laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is a simple and relatively pain-free process that helps remove unwanted body hair. Our services are available for your entire body, from head to toe.
At Lexington Tattoo Removal, we have a team of specialists who are trained and certified with our laser removal systems. They are there to walk you through every step of the process. When you arrive at our location, a specialist will meet with you to explain the process and review your hair removal goals. They will then calculate the plan for your treatment based on the area where you want permanent hair removal. Once the plan has been agreed upon, we can begin treatment immediately. We strive to ensure all our clients feel comfortable, safe, and satisfied with their service.
You should take several steps to prepare for your laser hair removal appointment. There are also a few criteria that clients must meet in order to qualify for our permanent hair removal.
The first step in the process is to cool the skin. We use a Zimmer Cryo to keep your skin at temperatures as low as negative 22 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the area is cooled, the laser is applied to the hair follicles. The melanin concentrated in the hair absorbs the laser light and converts it to heat. Laser hair removal causes permanent thermal damage to the hair follicles, so they will no longer produce hair.
Laser hair removal is only effective on actively growing, anagen hair. On average, about 30% of your hair is actively growing at any given time. As a result, some of the hair follicles will remain undamaged after your initial treatment. We recommend a minimum of six treatments to achieve permanent hair removal. Your hair type and color can also affect the amount of permanent hair removal that happens with each treatment.
Directly following your session, you will notice red bumps in the laser hair treatment area. These bumps should go away in a couple of hours. If you are experiencing additional irritation, we have partnered with Ebanel to offer a topical numbing cream that can help with irritation. It usually takes about two weeks for the hair to fall out after treatment, and you will want to avoid sun exposure for at least four weeks. After the laser-treated hair has fallen out, the hair that was not actively growing during treatment will start to grow back in. Each successive treatment will damage more and more hair follicles until all of the hair is gone.
Many places offer laser hair removal services, but what sets us apart is that our team is made up of certified laser removal specialists. Although laser removal has become more commonplace over the last few years, we still highly recommend being treated by a specialist. Without a proper technique, severe skin irritation and even damage can occur. At Lexington Tattoo Removal, laser removals are our specialty, and we guarantee your safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
